Bold is truly beautiful with this eye-catching tagua nut necklace. Each is crafted of whole tagua nuts that average 1" wide. When strung together, they make a bold statement in a burst of bright color that can be worn year 'round.

The tagua nuts are gathered as they fall to the ground, enabling them to be harvested without disturbing the palm tree from which they came. Next the nuts are dried, painted and then strung on sturdy cotton thread, with knots between them, for added durability. Loop and tagua nut button closure provides extra security. Assembled by Colombian craftswomen who receive Fair Trade wages.

Artist Bio
Our tagua nut jewelry is produced by Belart, a company consisting of the mother and daughter design team, Tulianna Garcés and Alejandra Nogurea- Garcés. They work directly with artisans, farmers and natives from displaced communities to produce and market this collection of eco-friendly, sustainable, tagua nut (palm seed) jewelry.

Each piece is handmade from organic, biodegradable tagua nuts after they fall from palm trees in the Rainforest and painted with brilliant hues of eco- friendly, water-based dyes Craftspeople, 85% of whom are women, assemble the jewelry and receive Fair Trade wages. Sales from this collection support vulnerable communities displaced by a 50-year old civil war in Colombia.
